Under Construction

This is an interactive, electronic scrapbook.  It started as paper scrapbooks, but these scrapbooks degenerated over time making them very hard to use.  And they were not suited for today’s technology of electronic images and video.

I am a pack-rat, I hope in the best sense of that word, and captured and saved a storehouse of memories in electronic form.  The paper scrapbooks have been scanned and the best memories extracted. Digital images and video are stored on disk with backup copies to make sure they last.

However, all these images are not organized, and the sheer volume makes them difficult to use.  This electronic scrapbook attempts to solve that problem using internet technology that gives access to these memories no matter where I am.

This scrapbook is primarily for me as I age in physical strength and mental acuity to help remember and enjoy the memories of days gone by.  However, if you run upon it, feel free to see if there is anything of interest to you.  Most everything is clickable and eventually there will be a global search function.

The scrapbook is divided into the five sections in the image below.  We begin life at birth and carelessly spend the first two decades learning how to become the person we become.  We are faced with the anxiety of finding a mate and starting a family and then miraculously it happens leading to the anxiety and joy of parenthood and raising children.  There is anxiety in finding a job and a career in society and then it happens.  When the family is gone and the career is over it is time to relax in retirement.  And now for me changing my marital status from Married to Widower after being a caretaker, I look into the future knowing there are a few more things I want to do.
